The diversity of bathroom ceramic: an overview
From a freestanding washbasin to a modern designer model
Ceramic washbasins for the bathroom are available in numerous shapes and designs: ensuring the perfect product for every taste. Corner washbasins, such as the models from the Subway 2.0 collection, impress with their simple elegance. You can also find double washbasins in ceramic, for example, in the Avento series. For a more striking look, choose a surface-mounted ceramic washbasin from collections such as Architectura and Artis. The selection naturally also includes practical built-in washbasins for sanitary ceramic vanity units. You can find elegant models in Villeroy & Boch’s O.novo and Loop & Friends collections.
Sanitary ceramic washbasins are robust and easy to care for. They are sensitive only to falling objects. Impacts can cause the washbasin to chip. Other than this, ceramic washbasins are highly resistant.
Toilets: flush mechanisms, seat designs and more
Almost all toilets in Villeroy & Boch’s collections are made from bathroom ceramic. This brings you all the benefits of a robust material with no compromises on design. A wide range of optional features are also available for your toilet. On request, the toilets from the Subway 3.0 collection can be supplied with AntiBac and CeramicPlus – for more details, see below. You can also decide whether you would like a SoftClosing mechanism for your toilet or a removable QuickRelease seat. Ceramic toilets come in different shapes to allow easy coordination with the other sanitary fittings in your bathroom.
From a wall-mounted toilet to a freestanding model – a sanitary ceramic toilet is a promise of high quality. Villeroy & Boch’s wide selection of ceramic toilets includes models for accessible or disability-friendly bathrooms in collections such as ViCare.
Shower trays for every taste
Previously the material of choice for shower trays, ceramic has now been added by acrylic and Quaryl®. However, you can still find a wide range of ceramic shower trays – including in Villeroy & Boch’s collections. For a striking look in your bathroom, choose a customised shower tray from the Subway Infinity collection in dimensions tailored to your space. You can also find a selection of quadrant shower trays in the O.novo collection.
Villeroy & Boch can meet requirements for more classic shapes too. The Lifetime Plus collection includes square and rectangular walk-in shower trays that are ideal for accessible bathrooms or elderly users.
Bidets are making a comeback
Bidets first appeared in the 17th century and, after more or less fading into oblivion, they are now making a comeback. Bidet designs include both wall-mounted and floor-standing versions. Browse the selection of square and semicircular models and choose a bidet that appeals to your personal taste. The models from the Venticello collection are particularly popular, closely followed by the classic Subway 3.0 bathroom collection.
The shower toilet is a modern alternative to the classic bidet and combines the advantages of a conventional toilet with the features of a bidet. A shower toilet is a particularly practical 2-in-1 solution for bathrooms that are not big enough for both a toilet and a bidet. Shower toilets, for example, from the ViClean collection, are also increasingly being used in accessible bathroom designs as they allow gentle hands-free cleansing.
